CENTENARY OF THE DEATH of Euclides da Cunha
"The Sertões"
This year of 2009 when Brazil celebrated a century of the death of Euclides da Cunha, the Jornada Internacional de Cinema da Bahia, intends to undertake an extensive and rich programming targeted to the public, adult, youth and child, showing the best in national production on the historical events that involve the theme "The Sertões and Euclides da Cunha".
Keeping its traditional slogan "for a world more human", the Organization seeks to encapsulate the concern is always in line with fundamental human rights and their need to fight for a fairer world, as part of its audiovisual imagery.
Some changes were made at the level of competition.
1. - It extended the scope of the competition also for films made in Africa and Asia, where are subtitles on Spanish or Portuguese, and Latin America, Portugal and Spain,
2. - All films (microfilm) selected should be presented only in 35mm or satellite systems.
3. - The registration form must be fully completed, or will not be accepted as entered production. All data requested in the entry form must be completed.
With this opening, we expect this year with good international productions . |
Jornada Internacional de Cinema da Bahia
receives the Roberto Rossellini Prize
The Jornada Internacional de Cinema da Bahia win more international recognition, was awarded the Roberto Rossellini Prize Maiori Film Festival in Maiori, Italy . In the closing ceremony of the festival held on 25 October, Guido Araujo, Director of Day and Nelia Belchote, Executive Coordinator of the Day received the prize from the hands of Renzo Rossellini and Luigi Ferrara creators and leaders of Maiori Film Festiva.

The Premio Roberto Rossellini is given since 1999 during the Maiori Film Festival in the Italian town of Maiori on the coast Amalfina where Roberto Rossellini made several of his films including L'amore and parents.
